War profiteering is treason; Halliburton has written the book on stealing from U.S. taxpayers with its no-bid, no accountibility contracts which have outrageously shortchanged American troops. That's the issue that Dick(less) Cheney should be investigated and convicted on!
Yeah, isn't it sweet about them moving to Dubai. How dare anyone suggest that they actually pay U.S. taxes on the obscene windfall profits, stolen from U.S. taxes! THIS is the real reason for the Iraq invasion, you know...

No and no.
But if you are going to be consistent, I guess you will have to do the same thing with GE, Conoco, etc. as many U.S. multi-nationals have offices offshore.
Not to confuse you with the facts but moving an office is not the same thing as moving the company!
"The company as a whole has continued to diversify internationally, and the Middle East is a point that they have targeted," said William Sanchez, a U.S.-based analyst at Howard Weil Inc.
"They are being opportunistic in putting the CEO in the middle of the action."
Sanchez said he believed Halliburton's move to Dubai was not tax related. Instead he viewed it as a strategic play.
Alan Laws, an analyst at Merrill Lynch, said the move would likely help Halliburton's position in negotiating large contracts.
Halliburton said it would maintain its legal registration in the United States and was not leaving Houston, where it was currently based."

Please remember that business has no nationality or any loyalty to country, customers, constituents , or employees. The business establishment only exists to make profit no matter what the consequence of it methods. That's why government is needed to make laws to restrict the avarice of business.
That's why globalization is great for business. The business will move to the place with least government oversight or a completely laize-faire economy. If it can get away with it.
Business will take as much as possible and give back as little as possible. Therefore government has to mandate that the strip miners restore the land. that oil companies be responsible for pollution, that loggers be responsible for
re foresting, otherwise they will not do it.
An older generation, the one that lived during the great Depression would say, when wiping the soot, given off by local factories, off their foreheads: " as long as we have all that smoke we have jobs". In some times and some places people will tolerate anything for the opportunity to have a job, but that's not your average American.

From there they can avoid taxes. Maybe all US business should move there so the can do the same. There wouldn't be any jobs for Americans but, oh well, that's business. Greed is much more important to some than sharing.
