I will be going to Mauritius at the end of the week and have been told to expect bad weather this time of year...typhoons and the like...is this true?

You can expect bad weather but it's not a 100% sure, besides, there's no typhoon here, but cyclones, we just got one in the last week of February, I don't think we're gonna have more cyclones of that strength again this year. Or this would be real bad luck! Anyway, just to comfort you, our buildings, hotels, and houses are 'cyclone proof' here, and the planes won't land in cyclonic weather, so you don't have to worry. This week end has been quite sunny and hot! So welcome to Mauritius! :-)
