Should someone be treated differently based on the amount of money they earn?

Not meaning if they purchase services, but basic rights, rules, allowances because they make x amount of money?

-----

If no, then why do you support higher taxes for people who work hard and earn more money?

Why is it fair to charge 33% (and when its lowered to 30% you scream "tax cut for the rich") income tax for one person,

20% for another,

and 8-0% for even another person?

This is exactly why I think income tax should be completely eliminated and a federal sales tax imposed instead.
It burns me that there is a huge underground economy in this country not paying any taxes at all. I see drug dealers driving around in expensive cars. I have contractors working for me who don't file taxes and own plasma screen TVs and big boats.
A federal sales tax would fairly tax everybody. Staples like food and clothing could be exempted so the poor are not unjustly burdened.
Gosh, the savings in accounting cost to the taxpayers would be incredible if you didn't have to pay for tax prep services and CPAs for those with business.

I support higher taxes for people that make more money. I don't assume that everyone who makes a lot of money got it by working hard. I've been around the corporate world and I've seen some pretty horrible people make tons of money while genuinely hard working people get stepped on and taken advantage of.

It's pretty easy to see that a man making millions in a single year doesn't suffer too much when he he is taxed, even at a higher rate. He still makes millions. His bills will be paid, he will eat and live comfortably. There is no huge hardship attached to this. In every way this person gets all the advantages in life, including it would seem immunity from the law.

Nothing about America is fair. Why do you think taxes should be egalitarian? I assume you don't think anything else should be, since you are so 'anti-liberal'...
