DST was invented to kick start the economy sooner. If you have more daylight after work, you are more apt to go out more. Go out more usually means you spend more.

A partial quote from Wikipedia.
Saving daylight was first mentioned in 1784 by Benjamin Franklin in a humorous letter urging Parisians to save money by getting up earlier to use morning sunlight, thereby burning fewer candles in the evening. Franklin did not mention daylight saving time—he did not propose that clock time be changed. His letter was in the spirit of his earlier proverb "Early to bed and early to rise / Makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise."

As you know, Daylight Savings Time is a man-made invention. This is to give us an extra hour of daylight so that people can work longer (on their farms, ranches, etc.).
Here in Arizona we do not use Daylight Savings Time. This is because it becomes so hot here that no one wants an extra hour of daylight.

Perhaps you should rephrase your question.
I think you should wonder who gives a crap that you can't understand that the simple measure of changing the clock one hour doesn't affect the solar system, nor does it affect your life or your personal happiness; you simple adjust your watch, and go on with your life.

It's just there to give us more time with natural light. It's a pain, but helps save energy.

Time measurement was created by humans. We can do with it as we wish and it won't affect "Mother Nature" or celestial bodies.
I say "get over it". You have to live with it and you can't do anything about it. I'm sure you'll find something else to complain about.
