The blood test is for rh factors.
That is it. They do not do STD tests.
The rh test is to prepare you for the possiblity that you may have a kid who needs a total transfusion at birth. Back in the day home births resulted in many infant deaths from mixed blood types.

The blood test is mainly to show that you are not cousins,or brother/sister, or related in some way etc. The test dont take but a minute,the results are back usually within a couple of days.

I Never heard blood test for applying marriage License! But you can get marriage court or Las Vegas or in Church but you don't need a blood test.

You all are so ill-informed. The blood test to find out,before you're married, if you're offspring are in danger of death in the womb or needing transfusions at birth because your blood types are incompatible. Their is one combination they look for, before you marrie you should know you may never have child that lives.

Well, i don't think you need a blood test anymore, i mean i live in Illinois and went to court yesterday, they don't ask for that anymore. they just to ask for that to prove you are not getting marry with "family"

LOL! i did not know that was why a blood test was done! don't i feel silly. i never had a blood test done. we just swore in. omg...now that i think of it, they never even asked us if we were related. it was nowhere on the application either!
