That is to tell if a guy is gay. It terribly confusing because one day he says or does something which makes me think he may be gay but the next day he look at me in a way that almost no other straight guy ever has. (i.e. our eyes meet while conversating for a period that is longer than usual he does not look away for a good 30 seconds or so and I blush and absolutely feel butterflies). He usually ends the long stare with a gentle smile that makes me want him even more. Once the staring got very intense where toward the end his eyes circled around my face and landed back into my eyes and his final impression was unbeliavable provoking.
On the othe hand, he wears dark wash Levi''s jeans and his rear end is perfectly attractive as his overall physique (athletic and very well put together). His hair is usually done (not with hair jell) but with a texturizing creme, wears pastel colored shirts as in light green, and orange which looks very nice.
I need a sure way to find out if he;s gay

I need to maintain some sort of professionalism before I'm %100 certain that he is straight. It is Ok if he is gay so that I know the staring and the casual flirting does not mean anything. (Although I would be so sad if that were to happen). please let me know if know a smart way (which does not involve directly asking him! if he is straight / gay ) to figure this out. Appreciate your help in advance...

It sounds like you're assuming that because he wears nice clothes, has a great body and takes care of his hair, he is gay. Keep trying sister. Although most gay men fit that description, (yeah, right). He's not one of us.

You don't say where this is all happening - if it is at work during your day to day contacts, he is probably just flirting or putting out signals to see if you are interested. If it is on a date, be thankful he can maintain the eye contact and pay attention to what you are saying. I think you are reading too much into the clothing he wears and perhaps are stereotyping re the pastel shirts etc. As far as his rrear end goes, I don't hink tht has much to do with his being gay or straight - just enjoy the view!

why don't you just ask him?
after all that is the honest way.
i have a friend that claims to be straight and he is 39
never married and he says he dates but no one seen him
with any women...he is so pretty when he dresses up he could be considered gay..all the women at work think he is gay..he never comes onto me but even when he is drunk he never really goes beyond saying 'yeah//i would do her" but i never seen him with a women or shack up or anything..is he gay..?? his brother and sisters even doubt if he is a real man..but since he has a lot of money they keep still as he sometimes has to loan them his car or money..go figure/

Ask him. I know a lot of "put together" dudes who are gay and straight. A nice azz in a pair of Levis is not an indicator....

You should not be looking for anything. If he wants you to know, then he would tell you, if you really want to know, then you should ask him with sincerity and truth without ridicule. Thats the only right way to go about this.

Ask him if he wants to go to a movie with you and start dating him. Once you get to know him a little better you will probably be able to determine if he is gay or not. If you still can't determine it, ask him.
