I'm due today with my first child. Wednesday I started finally having some painless contractions, which I found out Friday didn't even do anything other than possibly help with effacement. I've been 1 cm dilated for two weeks at least. Friday night I began having more painless contractions and it feels like they've been going non-stop since. Since yesterday I've been losing my mucus plug and half an hour ago I had a small bout of diarrhea. Is it at all likely that this will end soon, or is there still a decent chance it'll be another week or more?

Mother of 2 here and one on the way. This is not a joke. Do the electric slide at home a few times. (the long version) I did that at my cousins birthday party. I came home and started cramping, went to the dr. 11:00 that night. my water hadnt burst yet, but they said i was having contractions, told me to walk up and down the hall, water burst right before i got back to my room.i had my daughter the next day at 1:17p.m. she was just 5 days early. perfect 6 8/12lbs baby girl. The easiest delivery i ever had.

if it helps, I started losing my plug and my water broke within 7 hours.

Unfortunately, everyone is different

Just remember it'll be worth it in the end!

Good luck!

Usually delivery follows soon after losing your plug.
