We Yankees had no choice about about this years ago. The US Government imposed it's will on us the same as your Government imposes it's will on you. Our Government, yours and mine does all kinds of things that make no scents, like Iraq. Please stop blaming the people of the USA for things we have no control over. God Bless the World.

You mistake the American government with the American People. Politicians say one thing to get elected then do something completely different once in office and there's little difference between the Dems and Republicans. I'm not a George Bush basher but the fact is that the American people are not the government. This changing clocks idea was cooked up by bureaucrats that used saving energy as justification to look like they were doing something.
So in the end, they've made a mess of our computers to LOOK busy, justify their jobs and can use this as a pretext to later manipulate statistical information to "prove" their plan worked.
Oh, and the BBQ and sports equipment companies are happier because people will be outside more and that means more $$$ for them.
This kind of garbage dished out by our elected "leaders" is one reason why it's estimated that over 40 million Americans are living some type of anxiety or mental condition.
from NIMH...Mental disorders are common in the United States and internationally. An estimated 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older — about one in four adults
The reason? Living in denial. We are constantly sold that to be beautiful we need xxx products, and success is based on our car, and moving clocks will help save energy. We can't seem to stop the madness and it's making us crazy.

Potentially this will cut their CO2 emissions because if the clocks go forward it will be lighter for longer meaning that all lighting across the USA will be on for an hour less. That could mean a lot of CO2. As proportionally more people are using power or awake in the evening in comparison to the darker morning for an extra hour. Maybe on this occassion the good old Yankies might not be being their stupid selfs. He,he. Good old Yankies!!!

Just hype. There isn't any more daylight as some answers would suggest. It does nothing but give us all something to talk about. We will still drive and burn just as much electricity as usual. Don' buy the lie

Eh? I have not heard about this... where did you hear this? haha
(I'm Scottish)
Additional: You are right!! Gosh, that's so bizarre that anybody would think that they can reduce CO2 by doing such thing. Who suggested that??
Lets we all wind back our clocks 8760 hours and then we'd have reduced our C02 by a year??

It's not a terrible idea. Didn't enjoy the sun streaming through the window at 06.20 this morning.

It makes us special to the rest of the world. It's a ploy to disrupt the rest of the world, seeing how majority of business is conducted with americans on american time. And the rest of the world complies. Go Bush! The next great dictator!
