Attending OnDemand Expo April 16-19 and would like to find an inexpensive hotel outside central district or near the Airport that has train access (late night, early morning) to the BCEC. Willing to travel up to hour or so each way from Hotel to BCEC. Thanks!

Hey, it's me again.

Basically, I would suggest staying at the Motel 6 in Braintree. It's within walking distance (maybe 1/2 mile) to the Braintree T (subway) on the red line, and you could take that all the way South Station and either walk from South Station (about 1 mile) or hop on the Silver Line (SL2 or SL3) to BCEC (WTC stop).

Also, if you're going to take the T, you can buy the Link Pass for a week for $15. I'm not sure how much commuting back and forth you'll be doing, but one subway ride is $2.00.

Just another tip, if you're flying into Logan, you can take the Silver Line (SL1) from Logan to South Station and save yourself the cab fare.

One more important note, if you do end up doing this, make sure you take the Braintree line when you are leaving South Station on the red line T. The red line branches off into two separate lines, Braintree and the Ashmont/Mattapan line. If you find yourself on the wrong train, get off at the JFK/UMass stop, that is the last stop that services both lines.

Good luck!

Stay in Boston's Milner Hotel at 78 Charles Street. It has reasonable rates and is accessible by public transportation as are Logan Airport and the BCEC. The Milner is located outside the central downtown business district away from the tourist traps; but it is in a handy, safe location within walking distance of everything. Have fun in Beantown!

"Inexpensive" and "Boston hotel" is generally an oxymoron. Try the Boston Bed and Breakfast registry. Otherwise, other than the Milner suggested by USofA Bi... there is a Holiday Inn Express in Cambridge near Lechmere Station (subway line), a Red Roof Inn in Woburn near Anderson Station (commuter rail line that runs continuously, 20 minutes from Boston) and a motel the name of which I forget near Andrew Station (subway) which is also only a 20 minute walk from the BCEC.

There is the Seaport Hotel located near the convention center. You'll want to do some research on some generic travel sites to help you stay close to Boston.

Commuter rail service usually ends around midnight while the subway runs until sometime between midnight and 1 a.m.

I've included some decent sites for you to check into. You'll want to look for things like "close walk to the T" in their profiles.

Welcome to Boston!
