Is NIU a good college to go to?

depends on you and your definition of good. Vist the college, talk to the students, see if they are know for the course of study you are going in, see if you would be happy going there for four years.

It depends on what you want to study. Overall NIU is pretty good, but if you're looking for prestige, you're better off going into Chicago to Northwestern or U of Chicago.

For an education yes, but everyone goes home on the weekend so it can be pretty lame.
