Lately, in the past month, month and a half, when I go to get up or perhaps lift my left leg up after I've been laying down, I feel this almost ice-cold wave that seems roll in all directions in my hip. Then it feels like its igniting and becomes an intense sharp burning pain all throughout my hip. At once it feels both ice cold and searing hot, making getting up mind-numbingly painful; it is only the left leg around the hip and when I get up and sit for a while and then subsequently get up and walk around, the pain is gone. Is a muscle pulled or torn? Help!

SCIATICA???? Don't know if it's what you have, but look it up and see if it matches what you may have?

It sounds like some sort of an nerve impingement, or compression,(both of which are caused by two different things---bone impingement, or soft tissue compression) and it may be positional--lying down, then getting up. Pressure on a nerve can cause mind blowing pain that feels like fire or ice. Have you change your physical routine? Exercise? Injury to your back?
I would suggest seeing an Orthopedic Surgeon to get a work up. If you don't address this problem you could have long lasting effects.
Sciatica generally causes pain in the buttocks, and down the length of the leg. This sounds a little different.

You seem to suffer from a lumbar outlet syndrome. In order to determine what it is exactly (sciatic?) and what you need exactly see an orthopedist and put a triplex plank under your mattress, more or less your size, to reduce the spine curvature when you rest and thus relieve the pain.
