Per wikipedia...
"The Last Man Standing Match is a hardcore-style match where the only way to win is by knockout. That is, a wrestler will lose the match if they are unable to answer a ten-count after being downed, similar to the knockout ruling of a boxing match. A similar type of match is the Texas Death Match, where the wrestler has to be pinned before the referee will begin the ten-count."
I think they call it a Texas Death match in some of the old Texas promotions - World Class Championship Wrestling, and such. From what I recall, Terry Funk, Dusty Rhodes, and the Von Erichs all participated in those types of matches, but there is no way of me verifying that.

In a texas death match:
1) there is no disqualification;
2) pin/falls count anywhere in the building; and
3) a wrestler has to touch all four ring posts in order for a pin/fall or submission to count.

Death Matches have changed over the years. I remember when I watched Amarillo Death Matches. Back then they roped off the ring in barbed wire. Then they handcuffed wrestlers to each other. It changes?

It was a match where they kept going until one man couldnt go on, or gave up, or was pinned. It was an example of a hardcore type match and yes ...it was a falls count anywhere match too.
