There has never been any legitimate time machine experiments...however there are many theories as to how time travel could be possible.

One of which is to travel near the speed of light. According to the theory of relativity, time slows down as you approach the speed of light. Therefore, if you spend say a year traveling at near-light speed, the rest of the universe would have gone through centuries. This enables you to travel to the future in a sense. The problem is that you can only go one way with this theory - there's no way to travel back to the past.

Another theory is that going through a black hole or wormhole could allow you to time travel. (This is assuming, of course, that you figure out a way to actually survive the trip through the hole) The problem with this theory is that you have no control over where(and when) the wormhole spits you out, so unless you got lucky and found a hole that went exactly where you wanted to go...

There are tons of other theories relating to string theories and massive amounts of gravity etc etc etc..... but all of them require technology that is millenia ahead of our time. No respectable scientist has ever attempted to build a time machine so far.

The closest thing I could think of is the Philidelphia Experiment (If you believe what supposedly occured there). It was basically an experiment that went wrong, sending a battleship to another location, and/or time as eyewhitnesses say. What really makes it believable is the fact that many of the greatest scientists of the time were called in to make it work, such as Einstein and Nikola Tesla.

It was originally supposed to be an experiment to cloak a ship, aka...make it invisable to the eye and radar, but something went wrong.

Enjoy!

Well in order to time travel you have to think about relativity. The closer we get to the speed of light the slower time get for us. We could spend a year at close to light speed and many many many many years would go by on earth. That is the logical way I can think of time travel.

If there actually was a time machine or even if there ever will be, people from the future would have already visited us... don't you think? The only time machines in existence measure time... they are called clocks.

Science has proven time travel to be next to impossible. To travel into time you must be able to travel at the speed of light, which is impossible.

Then again, get a flux capacitor and go 88 MPH with 1.21 jiggawatts and you'll get there :).
