If I could afford it, I'd buy a 69 COPO Camaro to go with my 69 Camaro SS.

You didn't say price range.

Under $20k: Pick up a slightly used Neon SRT4. Turbo, LSD, gets the power down.

$20k-30k: 2006 GTO or 2007 Mustang GT. Both are fast, the GTO has the bigger engine and way more power up top. The Mustang is geared nice so it can launch out of a hole a bit better.

$30+: Maybe a used Corvette Z06?? Depends on your priorities at this price level.

A used Cadillac CTS-V with the 6.0 LS2 is extremely fast while being classy.

The completely depends on your price range. A chear quick car would be an SRT4 Dodge Neon. Mid range would be a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution or Subaru WRX STi. I wont even get into the expensive cars. Just look for something that you like, and that you enjoy driving. Make sure its practical to drive every day if you plan on driving it often, and that it wont kill you on gas. Each manufacturer has their own 'sporty' car. Its totally your personal preference.
