They wont work as they need to access the main kernel, which in vista is locked, this is why its more secure.

have you tried running them in compatibitly mode?

A lot of programs are not compatible with windows vista even the ones that say that they are.

This is because programs and drivers where made for the beta windows vista.

I wait awhile for a new program to come out to overclock.

I advice not to overclock anyway with windows vista on the computer

IF your insistent on over clocking. Stay away from the over clocking software, except for over clocking the GPU. Do your over clocking in the BIOS, if your Board has the controls for that. Vist runs fine when overclocked in the bios. Just remember you will need to run Prime95, and memtest 86+. These two apps will make sure your over clock is stable with the OS.

And over clocking is NOT recomended on any computer. I avoid adding ANY voltage to my CPUs. Also make sure you have good airflow or use liquid cooling.

Vista is new and overclocking through Vista is new. Slow down and let the new apps come forward.

i think you are lucky to get anything to work with a new OS, i remember the problems with 98/2000/ME and XP was simply rubbish for a long time.
it will be a while before most things will work with vista.
overclocking is a false economy anyway, putting extra voltage into a circuit will only end in one thing.....burnout!

you desire extra RAM for Vista. i latterly have been given a sparkling laptop and locate even 2gb isn't sufficient if I somewhat have too many things working. I in straight forward terms had 512mb with XP and ran especially lots an identical issues. i might advise 3gb.
