The dealer tells me it happened after a flat battery and jump start. Apparently the sat nav tracks ok...it just shows the vehicle way east of it's actual position.

i own a repair shop, and you should be able to re-locate this thing,i know they have a way to reset them because i have done it before ,if you get a chance to ,power spike it from the location your at now, really all you have to do is unhook the battery cable for a few minutes, and hook it back up at the present location, this should reset it,it sounds like a factory system, because these was really bad to do that, but id try that,it should relocate its self once it powers back up,good luck,i hope this helps.

You are lucky that's all that is wrong with your Rover. These vehicles are constantly requiring repair. Dump it while it still has some value, even if you don't get much for it, you will stop the bleeding. Easily one of the worst vehicles on the road. As for the dealers comment... in my book... if it is not working correctly, it is not working.

If you are that lost no hope, however it must be possible to input the position to the machine. Personally I use maps much more reliable.
