Once for all :
there is NO PROBLEM IN FRANCE WITH ARABIC POPULATION.
The RIOTS WERE SOCIAL RIOTS, absolutely NOT RACIAL riots.
I'm white with blond hair, I feel absolutely secure in my country and have arabic friends.
Try to don't believe FOX news all the time...
And all of U say we're cowards : I say you must take a history book and remembr that France were ALL ALONE AGAINST NAZIS in 1940. 150 000 french soldiers died for their country in1940. My 2 grandfathers are dead like soldiers.
So...f_uck off...

When do the French take a stand on anything other than acting contrary towards Americans? They're lucky French is still spoken there. What's brave about Chirac? Did he solve the huge Muslim youth problem he has? Did he solve the un-employment issues? What has he done in any area? Did he create the largest Marine Sanctuary in the world?
France is a delightful place, with wonderful people, a rich history, wonderful food, beautiful countryside. In the past, they made many great contributions to the world. Also, they have waged war on the world. What have they done to stop murder, suicide bombers, improve health conditions, improve education, improve drinking water, for others? What percentage of their GNP goes to this?
It may be that France exceeds the US in amount of money spent, or percentage spent helping others, but the last data I saw showed Americans far exceeded any other country in the world. This was both in personal donations as a percentage of income and total dollars, public and private.
Let's see, Italy, Poland, Great Britian, Austrailia, Denmark are all involved. France is not. Hmmm.

It is so much fun. The French have a over blown sense of importance. Even though France has high unemployment rates a stagnant economy, out of control immigration from third world countries, a weak military, and a habit of opposing the US. They still believe they are players on the world stage. France is a country that has been in decline since the defeat of Napoleon. France was for whatever reason given a seat at the table when the UN was formed and hasn't made a significant contribution to the advancement of mankind in well over a century. The riots in the Paris suburbs these last several years by islamic barbarians and the protests over free market reforms by it's student population are all I need to know to come to the conclusion that the French are ridicules

The French has a bad history with the US since 1793. George Washington wanted to stay out of Europe. In the 1800's the French was raiding U S Shipping in the Atlantic.
The French supported the Confederacy in the Civil War.
After the Civil War, we told the French to get out of Mexico.
We have to save the French's Bacon in WWI. If it was not for the Zimmerman Letter and the U-Boats.
I think that France and US relations are going to be so so.

Chirac chose to stay out of Iraq because France was Saddam's number 2 trading partner (second to Russia). In addition French UN officials were sucking down huge amounts of cash in the Oil for Food Scandal. In other words, for Chirac, it was all about oil. Isn't that a mantra the left uses as a bad thing? We knock the French because they have proven to be cowards in recent times.

They had good sense? I think not.
It's called, they had already cut a huge deal with Saddam and stood to lose big money over it.
Did you forget about the riots they had? It's still a problem today. I think France's days as a Republic may be numbered.

I can only speak for me, but the reason I have no respect for the French GOVERNMENT isn't because they didn't join the coalition in ousting Saddam, it is because the French Government openly and willfuly tried to undermine our efforts in Iraq. I didn't even have a problem with them publicly being non-supportive. They went beyond that though. In a very underhanded way they worked behind the scenes to try and brng about the failure of the coalition. For that reason, I will *never* consider France as an ally of ours again.
I also have no respect for the French people that condoned the French Governments actions.

My husband is British and we've traveled extensively through Europe, France in particular. He made an interesting observation about France and the U.S. France and it's nationalistic tendencies are very similar to those of some Americans. Both think they are the greatest, deserve a lot of credit and have more culture/taste/intelligence than the other. Neither is willing to see it the way the other does. It's boiled down to being culturally stubborn more than anything. France did the right thing when they stayed out of the war. Does that mean they don't have racial issues? No, as evidenced recently they do but so do we. No one's perfect but I love France, I love traveling and no amount of 'stubborn nationalism' is going to stop me. Go World!!!!!!!!! Best to you.

Read up on the history of France and the US and the rest of the world. Especially during WW2. It's easy to make your statements when you don't know what it's all about. And as for them not joining in in Iraq they are now Muslim controlled. Good choice?

The French had the good sense to stay out of World War Two also. They planted trees along the Champs-Élysées so the Nazis could march in the shade. Very brave and insightful indeed.
