I have a '98 Chevy 1500 with a 350 and AT. How much would it cost to convert it to a manual transmission?

it depends on what you have more of time or money.

If you pay someone it will cost you a lot.

If you have the time and can find a 2nd truck for cheap with the set up you want then it is just time and a matter of know how.

More than your '98 Chevy 1500 is worth!

I did that one time. You have to change the driveshaft, make new transmission mounts, modify the hump in the passenger compartment and redo some of the trim for the stickshift boot. I did it all myself from two cars and paid a mechanic $50 to make the shift linkage work. I wouldn't ever want to do it again.

to much to be worth it, unless you have to keep the '98 1500. would be cheaper to get new truck with manual

not to be a wise guy but why would you want to ?Manual trans mission are more costly to maintain than automatics . I assume you all ready have 4 wheel drive.. a manual trans isn't going to help you much
