This is just the Lungs cleaning themselves. You will find that you are coughing up a lot of mucus. This is normal and it will stop in due course. You must remember that when you smoked your lungs were getting coated with tobacco tar and that is what you are clearing out now. As soon as this clears you will have a clean breath. Use a good mouth wash until everything clears up.
Congratulations on giving up the evil weed.

Your lungs are starting to clear. You will have to live with the taste and smell depending on how long you smoked and how much. it can take from weeks to months. I was not a heavy or a long smoker and it was a very long time ago that I quit but it took some time.

I too dreamed of smoking but the hardest thing to do was to quit reaching. That took me several years.

Glad to hear you have quit though you won't regret it believe me.

I came upon your question and wanted to congratulate you on your accomplishment! Way to go. I haven't quit yet, but I have tried so I know how difficult it is, especially with two smokers in the house.

Ignore the nasty comments by the smoking nazis on here. They are disgusting and childish.

It may take a while. Your body needs to "purge" the extensive amount of toxins you filled your body with.

It's a process...
