I'm neither American nor Canadian but if I had to live in one I'd chose Canada. This is because its far safer, people have a higher standard of living and the religious right is not as powerful.
Also, American media is far too censored for my tastes.

Let's see. Both are wealthy English speaking nations (barring Quebec). Gas is more expensive in Canada, but medicine is cheaper. Weather is colder in Canada, but I prefer that myself. Both have leaders I disagree firmly with, the most likely alternative being disagreeable as well, and anyone who cares about the issues important to me is a serious political minority... Canada doesn't have executions.

I wouldn't mind spending a few months living in Canada, I'm sure it's a nice place. I was born in the United States though, and I prefer it here. Now, if Canada can handle that little Quebec problem in such a way that the Bloc can get some influence without enforcing Francophonics or that silly idea of seperation, I'll be more interested in the place. Doubt it'd beat America anyway, we've still got Constitutional protection of free speech, as attacked as that is.

Since Canada has consistently listed higher than America in the UNs "Best Places to Live" list, who am I to argue with the UN.

Canada has a 'higher standard of living' then America??!!!
This could only have been posted by someone who has never been to Canada (or maybe has never left it!)
That is a completely falleceous statement.
The US has a far higher living standard than Canada.
Oh, and BTW, US healthcare is far superior to that of Canada.
The difference is, in the US you pay for your own healthcare - in Canada, the government confiscates your monet through heavy taxation, and doles out your healthcare to you.
If you like a government-provided, cradle-to-grave lifestyle - you will love Canada.
If you are filled with the spirit of self-reliance and self-motivation...the good ol' US of A was made for you!

Tough question, I live in US so I like it better but Canada has its plus's also. I would have to say on the economy alone the US has it but as far as health care I think Canada has us beat. Good on both sides. Maybe we should invade and see what it is all about. Ha.
