Is this as easy as buying the new keyboard and just plugging it in? Or would there be more involved? Also, do I need a special adapter or anything?

Thank you so much!

Is it because Apple's hardware isn't what you thought it was? What's wrong with it? Are the keys not tactile so much? Do they feel that bad? If you have other mac problems like me and other users, I suggest you just go back to a PC. The best PC comparable to macs, is the Sony Vaio. It has neat style, better performance, and better support than AppleCare. Keyboards probaly aren't compatible with macs anyway. Apple restricts you, don't they? I've switch from a mac to a pc. It wasn't that hard. Many users have felt the same way.

If it is a USB keyboard, it will work with your Mac. Wired Apple keyboards also use USB, so the connector will look the same (rectangular).

PC keyboards can also be PS/2, which is round instead of rectangular. If the keyboard you want is PS/2, you can use an adapter to plug it into your Mac. It's simply called a "PS/2 to USB adapter" and they're easy to find and very inexpensive ($20 and under). Some of them will adapt two PS/2 devices to one USB port, in case you also have a PS/2 mouse.

well, pc peripherals have that different type of input. However, you can get an adapter that fits the piece and turns it into usb (so u can put in anywhere on your mac). I know this works because I actually have two of them (they are very small with no cables). I just wish i could remember what the input was called on the keyboard. if all else fails, they are color coated (i think green). So just match the color up and you're good to go. I have occasionally seen them at circuit city and staples, but feel free to try best buy and office depot too.

As long as it's a USB keyboard, it should work.
