why after having a baby was it necessary for a woman to be churched before they could enter another house?

This is actually called the Thanksgiving of Women. This didn't actually become part of Western culture until around the 11th century. A lot of people think that this is some service to drive out demonds. Not so much . . . it was actually a prayer for good healing. Women back then were the sole producers of life. Only a woman can give birth. Plus women were made to wror . . . with theis prayer they hoped theywould be on their fet in no time to start working and heal well to bare more children. Back in the middle ages, women that were expecting children were exempt from a lot of things for instance fasting for religious tings, and any one caught beating a pregnant woman would be subject to death. A woman that bore a son would have 2X the healing time as a woman that had a girl, because they felt if they had a boy once, they would continue doing so. This tradition goes as far back as the Virgin Mary . . . she took her first born into the temple where they both were blessed. I found this . . . it is the prayer that was said.
