What would be the best way for me to promote and sell my music on the internet? I am looking for ideas.?

I am a musician, song writter, and performer. I just finish producing a CD, now am about to release, but am looking for some great ideas about how to release my music. I am not interested in getting sign to any recording or production company, because most of them are thieves. They make money, but you never get what you deserve, I have been through it before. I would definately appreciate some solid feedback from anyone and everyone.

This new release is more a mixture of different styles of music, reggae, dancehall, soca, (all 3 from the caribbean) r&b, house, and 1 hip hop with jamaican flavor.

I would say make a myspace music profile and invite people to listen to your page. You can sell your cd on cdbaby.com and put a link on the page to buy the cd or to your other website if you have one. Myspace is a really effective promotions tool and when you create a new profile - you will be featured on the sign in page as "new members" for a little while so people could see you there as well.

Go on Myspace and create a music site - a lot of people start off that way, it's a good site to pass out your music bits and get people hooked, plus, you can distribute to numerous potential clients. For example, there is this amazing artist - J Rice, he's more R&B, but ever since I heard this guy - I bought his cd from second spin and I've been waiting for him to get really big, and he's got some fans on there too. get a myspace music page with samples of your music and a link to an order form to buy the cd

Make your very own youtube channel. submit your song there and generally make new movies and ask for comments. enroll in channel that has quite some perspectives and have interaction with them. you will possibly be seen immediately with that approach. And in the adventure that your song somewhat good human beings will share it with others.

apply it to a popular item on you tube. such as american idol. play clips with your song in the background or just allow access on limewire or ares p2p sharing programs
