It depends on how late you are. Many symptoms differ by pregnancy. Food cravings aren't common at first. For some women, like myself, nausea was a determining factor. For others sore boobies etc. With this pregnancy (I am 22 wks) I knew instantly cos of the nausea but I got a negative test result since I thought I ovulated on the 14th. Once I did the 2nd pregnancy test 15 days later, it was positive cos I had ovulated on the 21st of Oct. (I tested positive I think Nov 11th)
You can re test of go in for a blood exam, they are more accurate.
The heaviness of your period has nothing to do with it unless you mean tha maybe you had implantation spotting?

Well, there's always the possibility that you tested with the home test a little early. I would say wait until your next period and see what happens, or head to your doctor. As for symptoms, nausea, mood swings, cravings, etc. these aren't symptoms you only experience with pregnancy. Unfortunately the broadness of many condition symptoms, means they can be had by most of us. If you really want to be pregnant you could be fitting into the box, or if not it may coincidence, but regardless, you need to know if you are. There is a new home test out on the market, that is supposed to tell you in as little as 5 days after conception, maybe you should try that. If it comes back negative as well, I'd say a lucky for you, or maybe try again. Hope it helped.

There's always a possibility hon. Those over the counter pregnancy tests a lot of the times don't work properly. When you're just a few wks pregnant, the hormone levels are still very low and sometimes undetectable. Blood concentration is always the most accurate method. I suggest you get the blood work done just to make sure. Don't forget sometimes stress over the fact that you might think you're pregnant can delay your period and make you experience all the symptoms. Good luck!

I know this sounds kinda weird ..but before I had any pregnancy symptoms, my husband made a comment that it's "much warmer in there" when we have sex.
So, maybe your fiance has noticed something? and if not .. you can kinda watch for that.
My actual first symptom (that I felt) was exhaustion! I was soooo incredibly tired. Like every muscle in my body was exhausted. Then came the frequent urination ...
good luck! God bless!

usually the test kit is very realiable.
you need not worry. if it's negative, then don't suspect it.
there's very little chance to having an erred result
