We learned about logs in pre-Calculus.

Too long ago for me to suggest a currently available text...

Log functions are discussed in HS level Geometry and Algebra classes. The curriculum changes often enough and its been long enough that I can't tell you for sure which will introduce it.

Log functions are N^x Where N is the Log base and x is the number. Typical Log base is usually "e" for "natural log or 10.

Ask any local HS math teacher for a full explanation.

When I took trigonometry in high school it included logarithms

Over a number of years I have not found a great deal of difference in textbooks.

the high school course known as introduction to calculus

our textbook(which i thought was great) was the NELSON ADVANCED FUNCTIONS AND INTRODUCTORY CALCULUS
