I think once Bush is out things will get better for us especially in Europe. Yes I think our President made a lot of enemies the last 6 years. Even if we get the best diplomat in history elected next go around I would not visit the middle east in our lifetime. TC messtograves

A lot of other countries dislike Americans because of what their government is doing, whether its their own country or others. They see them as disrupting other countries government and lifestyle and pushing them into becoming American .
The Americans I have come across vary. There are some that are friendly and knowledgeable about Canada and the world but many of them are ignorant, unfriendly and believe they are better than us. There are good and bad in every country, I can't say I hate all Americans, it's just that many of them believe they are more superior than us.
There has been way too many times on TV shows, that mock Canadians. It makes me wonder if they believe we are that ignorant and at that same laugh, knowing so many of their own people know nothing about Canada or any other country.
If the education system in U.S. would also talk in depth about all the other countries outside America, perhaps everyone's attitude would change.
Just because your American and have freedom, doesn't mean everyone will welcome you with open arms. We are also free but are looked down on for no other reason than we're not American and don't have the resources or money to rule the world.

I'm a US citizen.
First: Do you hate people from other countries?
I've traveled in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, France, and Sweden. I didn't find that anyone that I met hated me for being an American. Many of them did not like things that the US government did.
I have not traveled in the Middle East and I suspect that there I would be more likely to find someone who hated me for being an American, but I also think that the great majority would just treat me as another human being.

Lisa, let me assure you that the majority of the people from other coutries DO NOT hate all americans. I am sure that like evrything else, there is always someone that has enough rage to hate everyone in the world. I believe that americans are just like everybody else in the world. There are people that live their lives as best as they can and there are people that cannot live without some form of hate in their herats. Basically what it comes down to is "diversity". I have lived in the states 11 years, I have lived in Italy 9 years and the rest up to date right here in Venezuela. If you have heard about Venezuela maybe you have heard that we have a dictator/president that is almost obsessed about hating the US. He thinks that he can get the venezuelan people under a unique ideology by trying to appeal to a sense of national security against the US and specifically against Bush and his government. He has donated lots and lots of money to poor people in the states forgetting that right here in his country 80% of the population lives in poverty even though we are an oil exporting country. What I want you to understand is that you will always find people with different opinions about the american people in general. I hope that this helps.

This US Pres has proceeded with things w/o the knowledge, opinion or approval of the American people and sometimes even Congress. Do we like to see our rights being chipped away by his revised laws signed and passed in secret. Do we like a leader who reeks of the character of an Imperialist instead of the American public's ideal and that being a Pacifist? There are so many cans of worms he's opened up we are beginning to look into his goings on and we will need to group. How many of US know about his 'black cites' = retainment(torture) centers involving the CIA or how many would believe this could be going on in many other countries? They might really be training camps--for US!

I am a white South-African, who is anti-apartheid, and disagrees completely with Bles about the nation standing up again, we're standing just fine thanks.
Now my answer:
Generally we think that you lot are a bunch of oil-stealing, self-serving idiots. I used to think it was only Bush, but then you went and re-elected him...
Oh and then there is that little thing of Americans not realizing that there are other countries in existence, ever heard of Botswana? Or Ghana? Or Benin? Cause these are some other African countries. And the sport thing! Ever heard of soccer? Or rugby? Or cricket? Have you ever realized that the only country in the world that has the NFL... kind of limits your competition or what...
All of these propably don't apply to you, but the majority of tha Americans I've spoken to... are clueless. And that is why I think that you lot are dumb in general. (except for whoever writes Grey's Anatomy, cause Grey's rocks.)

I agree with mr. Rashif from India. I lived in miami a couple of years, and traveled all over the states. I come from South Africa, and over there most people dont have a clue of wat is going on around the world. Or they just dont care.
America, wants to force the world into one big happy family of neo liberal democratic states, so that they can benefit in return. Personaly my first hand experience of the bigger citys is that there are these pseudo christendom. People that live just the way they want, but call themselfs christians the first chance they get. But I also know off good people I have met, most off them from the small town. The thing is, the U.S.A should be an example for other countries, in the sence of non interference in other legitemate states. I'ts easy to point a finger.
Bush is being critisised by his own people for failure in Iraq, yet they supported the attack in the first place. Bush had some tough desisions to make, and he deserves to be supported by his people, rather than being critisised by the danm liberals. Finally the American economy is based on war, it increases their Gross domestic product wich in turn creates jobs. So you will benefit, dont worry!!!
The white people in South Africa are alot more conservative. We are not many, but God has protected us time and again. Against the Zulus the british, against poverty and hardship. God has planted us at the tip of Africa with a purpose. And we shall rise once more to the glory of a nation hated by all other.

I seriously doubt that everyone hates this country. If they did, then we wouldn't be getting this enormous flow of immigrants trying to migrate here every year.
