Jeremy Clarkson has said it will not return, while the BBC maintain it will be back on our screens. I presume what we are witnessing is behind the scenes politics. Clarkson has long held the view that the BBC don't value his programme, and the fact that the last series was barely four or five shows long was proof of this fact, along with schedule changes.
I expect Clarkson is refusing to do another series until the BBC agrees to a longer run, and maybe better funding.
Hopefully they will come to an agreement soon!

Clarkson says there will be no more Top Gear this summer. According to the BBC there will be a summer special followed by a new series in the Autumn.

That is false. The BBC insures us that Top Gear will return in the summer as they have plans for a summer special episode ; could be interesting.

They did say its back in summer
Top gear makes alot of revenue for the BBC with the sales of rights worldwide so i dont think it would be one of the 1st shows to be axed if they were having a clear out.

i've not read anything in the news. But there is a comic relief episode beign filmed this sunday. It's highly doubtful if it'll be axed as its such a popular show on the network. There's also nothing on the bbc news page.

clarkson said in his column it would not be returning in the summer,which would make sense because before hammonds crash top gear did a spring series and an autumn series.i think they will be waiting for the autumn so they can get the scheduling back in order

Sounds a bit like Top Gear might be back but without Clarkson, I hope that will not be the case!!
