cannabis has been put on this earth by mother nature like other herbs. If some twit had not smoked or ate it,nothing would have happened. There are other herbs out there that have desired effects on the human body. legalese it and tax it . We did in prohabition times. If the streets were full of people smoking pot there less fights and less family splits. ( I am anti drugs )

I agree up to a point. Most prohibited drugs in fact have a beneficial effect in medicine and in the case of cannabis it seems particularly hard that something which brings pain relief is banned because of its widespread use as a recreational drug. Having said that, however, I feel that there has to be some restriction on its use, as the taker is liable, for instance, to get in a car and drive while under its influence, with disastrous results for society. I would not like to see pregnant women or nursing mothers or, for that matter, people in charge of young children using it. In fact, once one draws up a list of people for whom it is not a good idea, the notion of government restriction begins to seem far more reasonable.
What I do resent is the high-handed manner in which commercial interests dictate what food crops are to be grown, thus threatening traditional species. I also lament the decision of the UK to add folic acid to all flour and flour products with the aim of eliminating cystic fibrosis, despite the fact that in protecting a very small element of the population in this way, they are actively threatening a far larger section of the population, the over 65s, in whom it can cause dementia.

It is against the law in England to grow cannabis. However, there is a way around the problem of the law. What actually happens is the cannabis plant is simply grown on common land - thus, the authorities, in the guise of ye old plod fuzz, cannot then say who owns the plants. Likewise cannabis is also grown in parks and gardens belonging to the council. This results in very much the same thing as the common land idea.

The punishment for growing cannabis at home is to be let off, provided you are growing it for medicinal purposes and not selling it on the streets.

It is known that marijuana is one of the most common and abused drugs among Americans today. This is why it is a Schedule 1 drug. Although some advocates argue that legalizing marijuana is the only way to ensure that patience can use it for medicinal purposes. The harmful side effects far outweigh any positive aspects.Major medical and health organizations, as well as the vast marjory of nationally recognized expert medical doctors, scientists and researchers, have concluded that smoking marijuana is not a safe and effective medicine.marijuana weakens the immune system and there is no known fact that it is beneficial to anyone besides getting high.

I think maybe you are a student,...am I right....no offence meant in any way.Its the way people use cannabis that causes problems, usually smoking too much. One of the worst parts of my job is visiting a Mental health unit in Manchester where a lot of people are suffering with deppresion, schizophrenia and many other mental health probs. One thing most of them have in common is Cannabis. There are no short term probs with it but the long term probs are what people are concerned with.

What right? Because it is illegal....that's why.

Whether you think it should be OK or not, the fact is, it is against the law....

Best way to solve that is to get involved in changing the law....
