I had tonsillitis at the beginning of last month and the doctor gave me a 5 day course of penicillin and assured me several times it would not interfere with my pill. I took my last pill on thursday and have still not come on. But i have had a bit of an upset tummy and cramps since last wednesday. Could my upset tummy be interfereing with my monthly or should i be more concerned! any advice?? .. and yes i have been having plenty of rumpy pumpy!lol

Penicillin, is an antibiotic to treat the infection in your tonsils.
BC pill, is a hormone pill which regulates your menstrual cycle. One doesn't have anything to do with the other, unless you've skipped some of your pills, I wouldn't worry.

I don't understand why your doctor told you that it was not going to affect your pills because in the past when I have had to take penicillin, the pharmacist warned me that my pills will not be as effective and I would need to use a back-up birth control method. The penicillin should not affect your period though, just the effectiveness of your birth control pills.
