Women smother their men with attention because they think that men will smother them with attention in return. It's just another way they try to get men to fulfill their needs and give their l'il ol' egos a boost. When they don't get the attention they crave in return (after bugging the *** after the man who often just wants to rest after a stressful day at work) they use this as an excuse to bail out of the relationship. Truth is, they've found the attention they want from someone else while you've been working hard to support her!

Not all men consider love and affection SMOTHERING. Some normal people actually like it. And I have known men that could not stand to be without their gf, even long enough to go to the bathroom! So it happens on both sides. I think reasons for divorce probably have more to do with other things, than being loved too much. Remember, different people have diffrent needs and wants. We are all not the same. One persons hell could be another persons heaven.

You must realize when a women is clingy she is just reaching for the wallet, she must have ran into some cute shoes at the mall she just must have. So she is driving home in her bad *** SUV she got from clinging at her husband thinking I have to cling again to get this shoes.
And well after all that clinging the poor guy ends up broke, she gets tired of him and there comes divorce.
So I hope this helped you with your question , on why they smother and give men all that attention its all materialistic.

It depends on the person. I've dated the clingy guys too and I can't stand it. It's not just a woman thing. I think some people do it out of insecurites with themself or the relationship in general. You just have to find the right person who can accept that behavior --some guys and girls actually like the clinginess. If you don't like it and you are with a person you care about, you need to let them know that you care about them too but you just need some of your own space sometimes. Some people will hear you and let you have it. If it's something you can't live with and you've discussed it with the person, it may be better to get out of the situation and find someone you are more compatible with.

Men can be very clingy too. I think it just depends on the person. She may be smothering you with attention because she wants more attention from you. Ask her.

Oh how funny you are.My man is the clingy one too and if you don't show some kind of clinging then you'll lose them.Women are a little bit more tender then men.So the clinging is a way to show that we actually want some attention from you and not someone else.

works both ways, if the woman is clingy, the man thinks he has an excuse to to what ever he wants(cheat, divorce, etc), but if the man is the clingy one the woman thinks it's kinda cool!

Gee, I don't know. Maybe it's because we want to be regarded as partners in the relationship and not just as a hole for your sexual relief.

i dunno, personally my wife isnt clingy, she cant stand me really... women are naturally affectionate and nurturers.. so they always want to make sure everyone else is ok before themselves.. i would love if my wife was clingy, it makes me feel good. i dont think thats true with most guys, just guys who have issues and ego problems it might get to.
