Surfing through all the sub menus only to find that you still have to wait for an operator.

I think the automated service is worse. At least when you are on hold for an operator, you sometimes get real good music.

Automated service. I would rather be on hold for several minutes than have to punch in a bunch of numbers and still not get the right person. Definately the automated is worse in my opinion.

I do NOT like having either one done to me. BUT IF I have to pick the one I dislike more it would be being put on hold by an operator. The reasoning for this being if you are on hold there is no telling just how long you're going to be on hold. BUT if you get an automated system you'll be through it soon enough. I just find it kind of insulting. I mean this company wants your business but they don't have enough courtesy to talk to you up front.

definatley an automated service because at least when you get put on hold for an operator there is a chance (if a small one) that you will get through and be talked to by a real person!

Neither, having an automated service call you and then put you on hold. God I hate that :(

I absolutely despise the automated services all the companies have. I can't ever get where I need to go, when you have to choose from different selections.

being put on hold for an operator who will then just transfer me to someone else who will also transfer me. I called my medical insurance 3 years ago and was disconnected 3 times in a row and then was on hold for 8 minutes to be transferred to 4 different people whom the last person gave me a different number to call. AAAGGGGHHHH!!!!
