Hanuman (Sanskrit: हनुमत् Hanumat; nominative singular हनुमान् Hanumān), known also as 'Anjaneya', is one of the most important personalities in the epic, the Ramayana. He is a vanara who aided Lord Rama (an avatar of Vishnu) in rescuing His Consort, Sita, from the Rakshasa king Ravana.
Birth
According to a legend, Hanuman was born in the Treta Yuga, as the son of Anjana, a female Vanara. Anjana was actually an apsara or a celestial being, named Punjiksthala, who, due to a curse, was born on the earth as a female vanara. The curse was to be removed upon her giving birth to an incarnation of GOD Shiv. Anjana was the wife of Kesari, a strong vanara who once killed a mighty elephant that was troubling sages and hermits. He therefore got the name "Kesari", meaning lion, and is also called Kunjara Südana, the elephant killer. The combination of Vanara and the celestial give Hanuman strength, divinity and quick wits – his main characteristics.
Along with Kesari, Anjana performed intense prayers to Lord Shiva to beget Him as her Child. Pleased with their devotion, Shiva granted them the boon they sought.[1]
At the time that Anjana was worshipping Lord Shiva, elsewhere, Dasaratha, the king of Ayodhya, was performing the Putrakama Yagna in order to have children. As a result, he received some sacred pudding, to be shared by his three wives, leading to the births of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughna. By divine ordinance, a kite snatched a fragment of that pudding, and dropped it while flying over the forest where Anjana was engaged in worship. Vayu, the Hindu deity of the wind, delivered the falling pudding to the outstretched hands of Anjana, who consumed it. Hanuman was born to her as a result.[2]
According to Shiv mahapurana, Shiv was so infatuated by the appearance of lord Vishnu in his form of Mohini that his semen was released on the ground. This semen was established by the Saptarishis in the womb of Anjani, with the permission of Shiv himself. In this way was born the mighty Hanuman. Thus Hanuman got qualities of both Shiv and Vishnu.
Being Anjana's son, Hanuman is also called Anjaneya (pronounced Aanjanèya), which literally means "arising from Anjana".

The God Hanuman is brought up by Anjana, but the wind carried the embryo from Lord Shiva and placed it with Anjana. He is associated with Rama as his all the time mighty servant. Hanooman got punished by Indra once. When he flew up to catch the Sun(hanooman was a baby then) the Indra took his Vajrayudha and hit his chest. As he got hit in Hanoo, upper part of the body, he got the name Hanooman. He has enormous powers but always he forget it somebody when make him remember it he can perform anything. When The team of vanaras were sent in search of Sita it was Hanooman who first jumped over the SEA to Lanka and met Sita first. That's why Devi Sita gave a boon to Hanooman that Whenever there is the name and stries of Rama in this world, Hanooman also will be remembered.
Rama very much liked people worshipping his close friend Hanooman. So we still errekt temples for him. Short cut to have a closeness to Rama. Without Hanooman there would have been no Ramayanam. If I tell you details of Hanooman you will get bored, may be. But some more
Twice Hanooman flew over the Seven Seas to bring the 'mrithasanjeevani" to alive Lakshmana and Rama who were killed in the battle. First time when he reached the place to collect the particular 'Mrithasanjeevani' he couldnot recognise it. so he took the Marhua forest as a whole to the battlefield, even its wind could make all the dead alive but the problem was when its is near the monsters killed by Rama also will come up the next moment so he flew back and kept the forest back. I think enough sories

Sri Hanuman was born of Anjani from Pavana, the wind-god. He was named Hanuman after the name of the city of Hanumpur over which his maternal uncle Parti Surya ruled. Hanuman's body was hard as a stone. So Anjani named him Vajranga. He is also known by the names "Mahavir" or mightiest hero (because he exhibited several heroic feats), Balibima and Maruti.
He was born at the most auspicious hour of the morning of the 8th of the Lunar month, Chaitra, at 4 o'clock on the most blessed day, Tuesday.
He was the chosen messenger, warrior and servant of Sri Rama. He was the votary and devotee of Lord Rama. Rama was his all in all. He lived to serve Rama. He lived in Rama. He lived for Rama. He was a minister and intimate friend of Sugriva.
From his very birth he exhibited extraordinary physical strength and worked many miracles.
He conquered innumerable difficulties which cropped up in his way through his courage, patience and undaunted spirit. He made untiring search to find Sita. At the time of danger he exhibited marvellous courage and presence of mind. He was steady and firm in his actions. He was always successful in his attempts. Failure was not known to him. He gave up his life in the service of the Lord. He had not a tinge of selfishness in his actions. All his actions were offerings unto Lord Rama. No one reached the peak in Dasya Bhava like Sri Hanuman. He was a rare jewel among devotees, the supreme head among Pundits, the king among celibates and the commander among heroes and warriors.
His birthday falls on Chaitra Shukla Purnima—the March-April full moon day.
On this holy day worship Sri Hanuman. Fast on this day. Read the Sri Hanuman Chalisa. Spend the whole day in the Japa of Ram-Nam. Hanuman will be highly pleased and will bless you with success in all your undertakings.

The son of Maruthi (Vayu - air god) is the another name for Hanuman. He is the so Anjani Devi - worshipper of Lord Shiva whom everyone worship for their desires and moksha. Hanuman when he was a boy, saw the upcoming Red Sun as Apple and flew into sky and fell down on touching the hot Sun. The father Maruthi stopped blowing of air and the life came to standstill. The Shiva with all god such as Brahma, Vishn and Indra blessed Hanuma as Chiranjeeve and he is still alive doing Tapas(meditation) He will be next Brahama - the god of creation. To get strength and vigour and concentration every nook and corner, we see a temple of hanuman and thus blessed to be his devotees.
