a movie based on a comicbook, dramatizing a historical event...using fantasy. i swear the amount of people who are taking it seriously just surprise me.

I think what this poster is trying to say is the manner in which this movie is being interpreted is ridiculous. It happened over two thousand years ago and somehow it is a movie that is Anti-middle eastern or anti-Bush. Extremists will always take things like this from the media and try to use them as a lightning rod for their own causes.

It's all in the presentation.

As you said, it is a dramatization of a historical event. Since we cannot possibly know EXACTLY what happened, many are awestruck by the glitter. I saw the movie and was quite captivated by it as a story, but at the same time I can differentiate between entertainment and probable reality.

True it is a mix of reality and fantasy. But the battle it is based on was a true event. There was a battle where 300 Spartans fought the Persian armies. So the story is true but the way it is told is fantasy.

that's what happens when our society is groomed to pay more attention to the media than to the facts. We base our lives around what is on TV, and then develop technology to support us when we can't watch our TV (Tivo).
