No, you should be fine unless you are experiencing pain or bleeding or anything like that. Like everyone else said, some people don't even know they are pregnant until they are like 9-12 weeks. We just know because we probably were waiting to get pregnant so we calculate our periods from the day they start to the day they ened, day by day... (i know that's what i do and that's why i know when my period is early, late or never came! :)- Talk to you later girl, just keep taking your prenatal vitamins and eating healthy! (my first appointment is wednesday to check everything out. I'm nervous because i had a miscarriage last year, so i want to make sure everything is fine! :)

No, thats about the right time to start seeing your gp/obgyn unless there is something wrong. You will probably get your first ultrasound just after this appointment too. Then you will probably have 4-weekly visits up until about 32 weeks and then 2 weekly visits till you are 'term'. Most people have another main ultrasound at 18-20 weeks. With my third child I didnt see my doctor till 11 weeks. Good luck with it all !

Just as long as you go before or at 12 weeks you should be ok. If you had a history of misscarriage or complications you could get in eariler, just eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies and lay off the soda and chips. Everything should be OK.
Sometimes it is difficult to schedule someone in quicker than the 3 weeks you get in, expecially if it is a large practice. You will be able to get in every month after that, they will make sure. I called my doc for a PAP test and it took me 2 months before I could get in. They do take pregnant women first, at the first available appointment.

I did not even know I was pregnant until the 9th week!!! I thought I was somewhere around 6 weeks, and then ultrasound said that I was 9 weeks!!! This is normally the time they want to see you for the first time. Relax and enjoy!!!

My first visit wasn't until 10 weeks. They want to be sure you're far enough along before they do an exam. You may get a transvaginal ultrasound and then you can see the heartbeat. It's normal to wait that long. Some doctors don't see you til 12 weeks since there's nothing they can do to stop a miscarriage.

When i called my dr to tell them i was pregnant, they didnt even schedule my first visit till i was 10-11 weeks along. They told me any sooner and it is a waste of time, your uterus hasnt really grown and it can be hard if not impossible to hear the heartbeat of the baby that soon anyway.

Normally, they schedule you for the 1st vist 8 - 10 weeks, so you're on track. The only time they do a prior visit is when there has been complications. So - yes, it's okay.

My doc won't see anyone until the 8th week.
9 weeks is okay. The really high risk of miscarriage doesn't go away until the 14th week, and there is nothing that can be done, so there isn't much to see that early.

I guess they want to wait so that they can possibly detect a heartbeat at this point. In the mean time take some folic acid and or prenatal vitamins if you can. Maybe you can call them and have them prescribe them to you so that you can start now. Good luck.
