If I was to make my salon services into a home-based business, will it be an automatic target? When it is open to the public and it appears to be successful does that make it MORE of an open target for robbery and unwanted attention?

So you are going to run a salon out of your home? I would think you would have more to worry about with trying to get all the proper licensing to run that type of business from your home. It really would not be considered a "Home based business" Do a little more research on this. A Home-Based business would be more like, if you sold Avon or Beauty Control or Amway or did telemarketing from your home. A salon is not really a home based buiness, just becuase you may be running it out of your home. And as far as robbery and theft, anytime you have a business and an open door, you are at risk for these things. It depends on where the business is located, good or bad part of town. And the police protection in that area.

It depends on what type of clients you have. What standards you set. Being that you even asked that question, you may want to think about along with all the pro's and cons....
