Children of the Mind, the last book of the Ender's Game series by Orson Scott Card. I've read all this series before, but some good books warrant reading again and again, don't you think?

I just read the Resurrectionist by James McGee.
I think he is quite a new author. The resurrectionist carries on from his last book (but is a stand alone novel) about a london bow street runner in the 19th century. Bow street runners were like a special police force.
His books remind me of bernard cornwalls style of writing and the main character has a sharpe feel to him.

The last book I read was Nickel and Dimed, the author goes undercover as a low pay worker in several different cities, and then writes about how hard it is to make on the wages she earns and the other low paid people she worked with.....It was pretty good. Before that, I read To Kill A Mockingbird.........probably one of the best books I ever read....

Little Face by Sophie Hannah - didn't actually like the writing style very much, but sometimes you get a book where you have absolutely no idea what's going to happen at the end, and this was one, so I had to finish it! The last one I read that I'd really recommend is Darkest Fear by Harlan Coben - fantastic!

One of the Palisser novels by Anthony Trollope - "Can you forgive her?" It is the longest book I have ever read and took me two months. AT is a brilliant social history writer and very easy to read. I feel that there must be more to your question so here is telling you what I am now reading. It is "The Parasites" by Daphne Du Maurier" - a very well written book by a clever author

Titan by John Varley.
Its sci fi, a research expedition to study moons of Saturn comes across a planetoid that has a life of its own, carries a dozen species in a symbiotic relationships and not visible from earth because it always hides behin the planet.
They crashland there ( So to speak) and after some time in a coma, emerge from a pile of **** ( literally). Their ship was wrecked by a creature that managed to eat them alive, but couldn't digest them.
Worse, the captain finds that all the girls who came out alive from the mess ( includin herself) are now pregnant, and they can now talk to some of the species on the planet, even though they speak a totally different lingo. And. the planetoid is alien made.
