If you are implying that spirituality is religious , then some poor fool has misguided you. i personally know atheists who have been sober a long time.
You can try rational recovery, a self-centered approach to alcoholism treatment created by a self-proclaimed monkey-humper named jackie trippey who is an advocate human power being sufficient enough to stay dry, but this brand of "treatment" falls far short of true recovery philosophy, which is based in Altruism-- UNSELFISH concern for the welfare of others

i'm an agnostic ex-junkie with 10 years clean in NA. We stress the "religious, no longer non secular" issue, while I always felt judged for both the drugs and for being non-non secular in AA. my personal opinion? 5-a million/2 months is a procedures too quickly to be doing a 4th and fifth. i did not start up a 4th until eventually I had a year and it took me a million-a million/2 to end. I have a tendency to emphasize living a Step, particularly than basically operating by them. easily, I now understand my mind had in undemanding words all started clearing and functioning nicely at 5 years. And alcohol is crucial drug. habit is a progression of habit. basically getting sober isn't adequate in case you exhibit addictive dispositions.

AA doesn't have a "religious" aspect. They do recomend that you acknowledge a "higher power" so you can hand over your problems to it, but they don't say what your "higher power needs to be. Some people will choose a tree to be their's so they can give their problems to it.

AA isn't really religious per se...it is about your own definition of a higher power. But even if that makes you really uncomfortable maybe this will help?

AA is definitely NOT religious. They teach their people to refer to whatever higher power does it for them.
