Has there ever been a bigger mistake made when selecting the tourny... if so, which?

Yeah, the mistake is leaving out the team that beat the Cuse on their home floor during Cuse's cupcake home tour, Drexel... Maybe if the Cuse traveled to play some teams, they might not be looked at as such a joke...same with Ok St, etc...

What a joke! All the SU haters out there can smile but this was out and out robbery! The committee should just admit it, this was 100% intentional on their part. You finish 10-6 in the BE and beat the #9 Team by 12 points and then you're told it's because of an unbalanced league schedule? Gimme a friggin break. I won't watch the tournament...

Criminal incompetence by the selection committee.

As Jay Bilas said this AM on ESPN radio, "it is almost ludicrous". And I think he put the "almost" in just to inject a note of diplomacy.

A travesty. There were no BE reps on the committee, and I think that has verything to do with it (just look at the low seeds for Louisville and Marquette).

Arkansas goes 7-9 in a crappy SEC (ok good at the top but overall below overage) and gets in and Syracuse goes 10-6 in BE and doesn't?

Also, Stanford got in at 18-12, AND LOST FOUR OF THEIR LAST FIVE and seven of 11 !!! The best team in the Pac-10, UCLA got smoked by the eighth best team in the BE (West Virginia). But for some inexplicable reason, many people somehow think the Pac-10 is the best conf. this year. We'll see, but I don't think any of those teams will get a whiff of the Final 4.

SU smoked Marquette at Marquette in their one matchup this year, and they both went 10-6 in the conference. Somehow though Marquette got in with an 8 seed but apparently SU didn't deserve even an 11 or 12? Ludicrous .

As far as "bad losses" please? Xavier lost to Duquesne, St. Joseph's and St. Louis. None of those teams is close to as good as Drexel (who beat SU way back in December). Yes, Syracuse lost to Wichita St and Ok St back in Nov/Dec, but both were ranked at the time, it's not like they lost to Duquesne.

There is always one team that got left out that deserved to be in. I think the 'cuse got hosed, beating Georgetown should have been the ticket.

I wish it happened in 2003. Maybe I wouldn't hate Carmelo Anthony as much today.

Jim Boeheim needs to quit whining, that's my thought.

um i think they got hosed , because if u beat a team like georgetown , it should get you in , west virginia should of got in and so should missisissippi state , they beat kentucky and all they get is reward with is a 1 seed in the nit bracket .
