I am planning on donating blood this afternoon. I usually work out when I get home in the late afternoon/ early evening. Is it okay to make my body exercise while it's trying to make all those blood cells it lost?

Personally, i would NOT take that risk. I'm pretty sure you're supposed to not do any strenuous activity after giving blood.

You might want to take the day off. If you work out you will get dizzy spells, your blood sugar level will definetly come down and you are not going to feel great afterwards. Just relax, drink plenty of orange juice and take and evening off.

Don't work out. That doesn't make sense. You will have just lost a pint of blood.

if you are avid in working out the most would happen if your drinking OJ, tablets or other replenishing drinks, you'd probably stop when you got tired, but a little light headiness would not stop me if I'm doing things close to the ground or on a workbench

I wouldn't if I were you, but check with the people who run the blood bank. And God bless you for being a donor!

If you don't know, why not skip a day? Or you can do a light workout and see how you feel.
