His status indicates that he was found guilty of raping someone unable to make a choice, they were in a coma, mentally handicapped, something along those lines.

How many details do you need? This is not simply an accusation, the guy was found guilty. He wouldn't be on the list if he were a decent human being.

That aside, the county will have records, go ot the court house and look them up. The case number is searchable, after that you have to pay to obtain a copy of the proceedings. How much it cost depends on how much paper, they charge by the page, about 10 cents each.

There are many Attorneys General "opinions" throughout the US that state certain records are available to the public. How much information that's available is what's most often disputed.

Many law enforcement agencies decline to provide information to protect the victims and suspects of crimes.

It is the court opinion, in my own state, that only the front portion of an incident report is available to the general public. It's also the courts opinion that names of victims and suspects in more serious offenses such as rape, murder, etc, and cases under investigation are not available to the general public.

There is also the Crime Victims Act which protects those victims from public scrutiny.

There are other means available to obtain the information as MOST states have listings of sex offenders on the State Police websites. Most states provide a photograph and brief description of the case which resulted in the conviction of the individual.

Bottom line...don't expect to obtain more than the basic information when applying for police records under the Freedom Of Information Act...your best bet is to seek the information under your Department of Public Safety Sex Offender list!

Best wishes!

The only information you can get is the info on public files at the local court house. You may have to pay a fee to get the information. Contact the courthouse in the county the crime was committed in to find out what they need for you to obtain the information you are looking for.

There is but its a little tricky. You can envoke the freedom of information act on that case and the whole case file should be released to you. This DOES cost money, but you will find the truth regaurding the case. I know that its a tough call when you know someone registered, a lot of people get registered on the lists and its hard to know who to trust. good luck
