bitumen is a complex mixture of paraffines, tars and carbon compounds, with some sulphur derivatives inside.

Most of the compounds are apolar so that Methanol is not a suitable solvent.

To dissolve some bitumen I would rather use Toluene.

Very doubtful- it's rather protic. Acetone or toluene is more likely to be a good bitumen solvent.
