The only thing worse than chavez is bush. Bush needs to give credit to those who built america IMMIGRANTS and ILLEGALS. The truth is that all countries need to get along and appreciate each other and respect each other because we are a big part of each others economy. Minorities are now growing in the US and the US will have to accomodate them with food from other countries. Don't forget that minorities are high contributors to the economy and without them there wouldn't be certain foods and the economy would take a toll. I can't say anything positive about Bush. I don't care to much for somebody who sends people to die and is ok with it. It's just to many lost lives and one man behind it. Most of the times theres only one main reason people join the army and thats money, financial difficulties.

The USA stands to lose a lot if Latin American anti-americanism continues to grow as it has in the last few years, Chavez is only part of the issue.
The biggest problem is that the US has neglected Latin American countries for the most part, handing out less aid than many other areas of the World so bringing up aid just makes it worse.
Don't forget that US companies like Dole and Chiquitas rely heavily on latin america (the US does not export bananas) and a revolt on US companies would do immense harm to those companies, and thus the US benefits from those profits.
Many of these countries also have "free zones" where US companies are based and assemble goods (ever seen a t-shirt that says made in Nicaragua?) and they need the support of te govts to continue these areas.
More importantly, the US NEEDS the cooperation of govt and the people to combat drug smuggling. The US has already lost support from Bolivia on the war on cocoa plants, losing more countries wouldn't bode well.
The US will focus on ethanol production as a major opportunity because it will create jobs for people who otherwise might want to come to the US illegally, it will generate lots of revenue for developing nations AND it will save those nations money, eventually creating large markets for US-developed flex-fuel cars (provided Detroit wakes up and smells the ethanol).
Bush hasn't spoken about Chavez because his advisors believe that they should focus on only positive things during the trip and not give Chavez the spotlight he craves (even though he already gets the spotlight anyway)

We won't be importing fuel from Brazil as I understand it. The US charges a 57 cent per gallon tax on ethanol from Brazil. We must protect our farmers, especially the huge agribusiness farmers.
What will the US accomplish with more trade agreeements? The export of more jobs and the import of more cheap goods.
Bush wants to pretend Chavez isn't the leader of an important country, and ignoring him is typical Bush playground strategy.

Why would Bush make any comments about a,
Failed right wing military dictator Hugo Chavez
Chavez is still mad at the Bush family because Bush Sr. refused to recognise Chavez as President of Venezula after Chevez tried to over throw the democraticly elected government in 1992.
He blames the Bush family for him going to prison for treason.

Is having better trade relations a bad thing for our own hemisphere? This is something that can help everyone.
As far as statements toward Chavez, Bush is a much bigger man than to play child like taunting games with Chavez.
Chavez is the one who looks like an idiot.
