Actually you ask a very good question, and I'll say that the biggest complaint from employers today is that people lack those KEY critical thinking skills.
So how does one further develop and hone those skills? Well, there are a number of ways, including reading anything that interests you and then writing about it. In other words, pick up the newspaper for instance, read an article or editorial, and write a summary about it.
And then think about how this can impact you and/or society? And write about that?
Critical think really involves the ability to see the point and make decisions based on it. But reading comprehension is not developed overnight, and it does take work!
