Funny how the left accuses Republicans of racism yet it is Republicans who put more African Americans in power. Maybye Republicans don't judge by skin color but by ability. The left sees color, it's the right that is color blind.

Republican. Colin Powell. Sweetheart the first African American Supreme court Justice was not a Conservative. Thurgood Marshall was the first Black Supreme court justice and he was a proud Liberal.

First of all there is no such thing as an African American,if your born in the United States your an American period !
And no I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. And I think our Secretary of State is a RINO....anyone who is pro-choice and wants to play patty cake with our enemies is not a true Republician or a Conservative.
That's a Liberal....

I hope & pray he or she will not only be a Republican but a Conservative. And I hope the first Asian, Hispanic, & Indian presidents are too. The point being that people should vote for candidates based on what they stand for and how good they will be for the country - not on trivialities like race, pigmentation or gender. Unfortunately, a lot of people will vote either for or against candidates for the trivial rather than the important reasons.

I think he'll be a Democrat. There's a vast difference between appointing a Supreme Court Justice and backing a black candidate for President. The Republican party is only willing to let so much power go to minorities. After all, have they ever seriously run a black candidate for President yet?

I'd be happy if Colin Powell would show some interest in running for the Presidency.
It would certainly stir things up a bit.

repubican. dems seem to want to keep the minority down by bombarding them with entitlements, gov. assistance programs and anything else that comes across as free but it nothing more than a carrot to get their vote. and appointed or not the rep do a good job promoting equality.

I would say Republican. Republicans have a tendency to promote equality and stand behind it. So a Republican candidate would have more credibility in my eyes. Case in point, Obama and Hillary's pandering to the black vote. pitiful.....just pitiful.

They were not elected by the public. I can assure you living in NC that none of the good ole boy Republicans here are going to vote for a black man, so I would have to say Democrat, as they are more open minded.
