The world can not be saved. There are too many things that go wrong everyday. However, why does the world need to be saved? It has survived for this long why not a few more years.

It is really amazing how so many people think it is impossible to save the world - and even more amazing that some even think, "Save the world? Why? From what?"
The human species may very well become the 1st species on the history of this planet to be responsible for destroying not only itself, but countless of other species as well (which it is already in the process of doing). Overpopulation, wars, poverty, environmental destruction - as their global scale increases, their global consequences will also increase as well. And we humans think we are "advanced", "evolved", "superior," "chosen", and "Right"!
And some humans actually have the gall to say, "Huh? Save the world? Why? Something wrong?"
The incredible ignorance, arrogance, indifference, and lack of faith, compassion & respect that humans are capable of is precisely why there is no "world peace", and why all things in the world are moving towards greater discord & chaos - not greater harmony & order. It is not actually "our" fault, since most of us have been taught or socialized to become this way - world peace is not a subject that is taught in schools, or often discussed by families or friends. But even though it's not our fault, it's now our responsibility.
HOWEVER, I still do believe it is possible to reverse the current course of the world, but it requires a significant leap in individual + collective human awareness & consciousness. Highly unlikely, but still possible. Of course, the greatest obstacles to this are the human traits I just previously mentioned:
Arrogance: "I don't need to change - I'm fine!"
Ignorance: "Why should I change? Nothing's wrong."
Indifference: "Who cares? That's just life."
Lack of Faith: "It's impossible anyway."
Lack of Compassion & Respect: "To tell you the truth, I just don't care all that much. I'll be dead before the world ends, anyway."

No. As long are there is religion and greedy people in the world there will always be wars. This is not to say that religion is a bad thing, but most of the time people tend to think their religion is better than another person's relgion which starts wars and so there is no one person, or group of people who can save the world unless they somehow can get everyone to believe that their religion isn't superior to anyone elses and to get people to stop wanted more and more.

Saved from a total nuclear holocaust, Yes. Saved from a small nuclear war, no. Countries such as India and Pakistan, Israel and Iran, North Korea and Japan have plenty of hatred toward each other. If we could bring everyone to the table to discussion matters effecting them and their disagreements, parts of the world could be saved. It's all about truly expressing themselves and reason to settle.

i believe the world is like a person growing up , learning new things that r good and are bad , its all about the conflict between its good side and its evil side , most of the time niether sider can win over the other because if the good side prevails then the person turned into an angel and if the bad side wins then the person is turned into a devil , i believe its the balance between good and evil that makes the world what it is , so i think what i wanna say is , if ur asking can the good side win after all ? then no , but if ur asking wether the world can be balanced towards perfection ? then yes

I think if by some miracle the world could be saved. But I think it would take a really major event to wake everyone out of their sleep and take action.

Yes. But we have to save ourselves, and our families, first. It is amazing how one thoughtless of kindness can impact someone's entire day. If we start small, everyday. We CAN save the world.
