I asked this earlier, but the answers didnt get me anywhere. I know I need to save it in the c:\windows\system32 area, but there are lots of folders... which one? I've already saved it in the system32 folder, but when I go to change my screensaver it's not in there. thx.

You have the right location. My guess would be you are putting the zip file or compressed file in there. You need the actual screen saver file. The file will have an scr file extension.

to be sure you are at the right folder, search for one of your existing screen savers and see where the search finds it. That is the correct folder.
Any screen saver you save must have the extention of .scr

Mine are all right there, in no folder *but* c:\windows\system32 its very own self, as image (bit-map) files with file extension .scr (that's dot-ess-cee-arr). I moved a purchased one over there, and Microsoft's originals are there, with filenames beginning with "ss" (presumably meaning screen saver)...
