The easiest way is to format the drive while installing the new operating system. The best way without destroying the drive is to use a program like Autoclave or Dukes Nuke and Boot to overwrite the drive.

If u don't mind the loss of the disk, heat it as suggested or put in a crusher, under a road roller etc. The data and the disk go off.

The BEST way is to do what the professionals do. Put it in the oven for 15 minutes at 250 degrees. Of course this destroys the drive but no one will get any data off of the platter.

If you have the original install CDRs then you can just reformat the drive and reinstall the Windows OS. If not you may have to go through the drive and delete file by file.

well the best way is to use a file shredder , but if your plans are to reuse the disk , a simple fdisk command using a windows bootdisk is all you need .. visit www.bootdisk.com

and down load the windows 98 boot disk , this will allow you to FDISK any partitions

Talk to the manufacturer to get software for the computer and use it to reformate the disk. It will reset the computer to manufacturer specifications.
