Yes, I've used a ouija board. I used to use it years ago with a friend. We used to watch horror films and then use the board - we must've been mad! it didn't work everytime, but I remember once, I was at my friend's house and my boyfriend was picking me up later. We went on the board and to test it we asked what my boyfriend was making me for tea that night. It spelled out steak, chips and peas. When he came round, we asked him what was for dinner and he said "steak, chips and peas". Now that was weird!! On another occasion, we were using the board and the glass started going made, just going round and round really fast. Then it stopped, and a second later there was a crash in the kitchen. We ran outside the house and looked through the kitchen window and a knife had fallen from the draining board into the sink. I think that was the last time we ever used it!

I've heard lots of horror stories about ouija boards - like people becoming possessed and stuff. Also, you never know whether it's just spirits messing around pretending to be other people (like your loved ones) or whether it really is the subconcious mind moving the glass. I remain open minded after my experiences!

there are no supernatural forces related to an ouija board, and there is no truth in the answers it gives. (with one exception that I will explain in a moment).

the force that moves the pointer on the ouija board is what is known as the ideomotor effect. the ideomotor effect is the influence of what you expect to occur on involuntary movements. This effect has been proven by scientists as influential and respected as Michael Faraday, and it is purely the actions of your mind.

If you ask a question to a Ouija board, and one of the people holding the pointer knows or thinks they know the answer, then they will unconsciously move very slightly towards the letters that will spell out the correct answer. This very slight push wouldn't have much effect, except the Ouija board asks you to facilitate the movement of the pointer, and to allow it to move in the direction it wants to move in. This means that a very slight push from one person causes everyone touching the board to move it in the direction the initial push moved it in.

Ouija boards can therefore give true answers to questions if someone at the table knows the answer already, especially if that person believes they work, because then (s)he will have a stronger expectation that the board will move in the direction of the correct answer.

be assured, however, that there is no danger from using an Ouija board, and there are no supernatural forces at work in them.

I have never used one personally. My mom has with her friends before when they were younger and she and my father banned me from having one in the house so I never got to use one.

She told me that her and her friends was playing with one and everything in the house started to go mad like the lights blinking and such and my dad (who was her boyfriend at the time) asked the board when he was going to die and it told him when he was 47 and guess what...he died when he was 47 yrs old. anyway...after the lights started to blink on and off because of my dad asking the question and such they all freaked out and lost controll of the board.

My dad who was the only one who had enough courage took the board and threw it onto the fire in stove said that as he watched the board burning the fire made a face that was laughing at him before the closed the stoves door. After that it got warmer in the house and the lights stoped blinking.

anyway personally I am glad I never used one because I really don't want to know things like that. I have also heard other stories of where someone has used one and been stalked by a spirt or demon. Personally I think that those things should be left alone. Because you can't control the boards and the spirits or demons are in control of them.

Also it opens an unstable gateway to the spirit world in which goddess knows what can come out of it. So I am just going to stick with what I know I can controll and leave it at that.
Also a reason y the boards don't work for some people because they don't believe. You have to actually believe in things like that before it will work. Let me give you an example.

If you see a black cat sitting on a wall starring at you. You can convience yourself that you never seen a black cat and leave it alone.

I think that most people who use a ouija board have some sort of spirital energy and that is what draws the spirits out to start off with. It just takes one person acting as "bait" for spirits to come out.

Ooo! Had really spooky experience when I was about 14. There was a ouija board phase going on at our school and we did one in my home. Lit candles, had the glass in the centre of the table, 5 of us... we got a young boy from the Crimean War! Asked him questions that none of us knew anything about (e.g. king/queen on the throne, etc) because we didn't have a clue about that time.

Glass smashed, candles blew out, we all screamed and came running out of room. We asked our history teacher the next day the answer to all the questions and they were all right....! Spooky - oh, and our house was built in the 1500's...!

I have used a ouija board a long time ago and it worked but it was not pretty what happened. Boy after that I asked God to forgive me for using the ouija board and told him I would never use it again. I would not recommend it to anyone to use it because it is against God. And it is not pretty to challenge him.

no and neither should you they are not toys and it is not a game.

ouija boards deal with low level spirits that are stuck in the area between us and the afterlife. the spirits you contact are not who they say they are. many people have been convinced they are talking to there lost aunt thelma but they are not and if you continue long enough then the spirits will turn on you and destroy you`re life by telling you to do stuff and you will beleive it is true. use youe head for once and don`t do it.

I did and the glass that we were using, fell off the table and rolled about then shattered all over the floor. We were'nt in a particular haunted place either and it was pretty freaky. Afterward though strange things started happening like seven of my mams watches went missing over 3 or 4 years and one day they all turned up in her bed. Another thing that happened was the poloroid camera that we had took a photo of the light on our landing upstairs when no one was in the house. The photo was waiting for us on the chair when we got back. Then we saw cats that were'nt there and the swing bin swung on its own. I strongly advise you not to use one as it can mess with your'e head a bit if your'e not prepared for what could happen.

I have tried mine a few times now and I still can't get it to work. I'm still hoping it will.
Also, Ouija boards can't be that dangerous. It's trademarked and manufactured by Milton Bradley (the Monopoly makers), for crying out loud!

Yes when I was a teenager. It did move and spelt out a few words which I can't remember. It frightened the life out of us. Never again. I think these things should be left to people who know what they're doing, though now at the age of 52 I am sceptic on anything like that.
