i am wondering why people say 16 weeks is 4 months preg.
my doctor told me 16 weeks = 5 months pregnant.
even on every website says like that.

Ask your doctor. One of the biggest tricks with morning sickness is never let your stomach get empty. soda crackers are your friend. How sick you are usually has nothing to do with eating properly or not. Make a list of the foods you can stomach eat those in the right portions to try and balance out your diet. 30 years ago before we had pregnancy diets all the babies turned out fine, you are proof of that.
Ask your mother, she is also a good resource.

I am also a tiny person, and am now 16 weeks (4 months) pregnant with baby #6. I am assuming this is your first child? when I got pregnant with my first child, I was a size 0, and 5'5" tall.
The amount of weight the doctors want you to gain is based on your original size. I can tell you that even with morning sickness, your baby will still get what it needs from your body. As long as you are still eating, and taking your pre-natal vitamins, I would not worry. The morning sickness usually goes away, or lessens anyway. I had TERRIBLE 24/7 morning sickness, and it just stopped about a week ago. However, I still have days where I feel terrible.
But, even with this advice, you should always talk to your doctor. The most important thing is the health of your baby, and as long as your baby is healthy and growing on target, you should focus on that, not on your weight.
As I said though, the best advice you can get is from your doctor.

It sounds like you have a severe case of morning sickness. Talk to your doctor about it, there is medication that can help (and won't harm your baby). Eat what you can, remember to take your prenatals and your baby should be fine. Remember to try and get some protein in your system - maybe try peanut butter (that's what I eat for protein since all meat makes me sick now). Good luck!
Added:
Confusion about month pregnant - So if you are 16 weeks you are IN your fifth month of pregnancy. You are not technically a full 5 months pregnant until the end of the 19th week. It's similar to not being 1 year old until a full 12 months have passed.

Has your doctor mentioned any medications to help ease morning sickness? If not, bring it up at your next appt. or call the office and say you need something.
After months of all day sickness, I got on medication and have finally gained 1 lb. I'm 16 weeks pregnant with #3. Best of luck to you!

Refer back to your Dr. There are things that they can do to relieve the morning sickness- including suppositories. You should be gaining some weight- but I have never known that there is a set amount- I have always been told- weight gain differs in each pregnancy. Try natural fruit smoothies.

Eat smaller meals throughout the day instead of 3 big ones. I had terrible morning sickness with my second daughter and that was one thing that helped me.
Oh and BTW.....16 weeks = 4 months not 5.
