It might mean you are low on oil, the oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. Go to Auto Zone or a parts store where they can check your car for free.
Get a Haynes Repair Manual at the local Auto Zone or auto parts store in your area. It will troubleshoot and show you how to fix your vehicle. Also on the Auto Zone site has a section for vehicle maintenance

You will probably have to take it to the shop to hook it up to a coding device. This will pop the code with the problem. However, in some cases this is too nonspecific and the mechanics will have to determine the problem by looking for it themselves. It could be as simple as low oil or as complicated and costly as a serious problem with the engine. Good luck!

There is the possibility that some rotten bastard has stolen the engine whilst the car was parked. Check under the bonnet to see if it is still there.
If missing, call the Police. If still there its a error, ignore it and wait for engine to blow up.

It could be any number of things. I purchased an analyzer for 150 dollars from the auto-parts store and it has more than paid for itself. Most of the time it is saying that the gas cap is not on tight enough.

Anytime the light comes on you need to have it put on a diagnostics machine, this is the only way for a mechanic to see where the problem might be by plugging into your cars computer. I hope this helps you , have a nice day.

It could mean anything to your oil pressure being low , to engine dianostics , eg. that your fuel injection system is not running correctly.
